Dare to Dream November 6, 2008

Obama has done it! It all begins with a dream…a childhood dream. His forefathers would never have dreamt of it. Every successful person’s journey begins with a Dream… successful people like Tiger Woods, Louis Hamilton and the list goes on. Dreams can turn into reality. We too can realise our dreams only if we set our hearts and souls to it. Just as in Singapore, we dare to dream.

It Pays To Be Creative September 7, 2008

It pays to be creative as effectively portrayed in the following story. Great Stuff.

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: ‘I am blind, please help.’ There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, ‘Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?’

The man said, ‘I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.’
What he had written was: ‘Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.’

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

Invite others towards good with wisdom. Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Great men say, ‘Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness…. In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear, you must have the ticket of a good conscience.’

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling…
And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

How Humans Change July 20, 2008

How Humans Change

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she’s blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He’s always there for her.

She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend.

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she can see everything, including her boyfriend.

Her boyfriend asked her, ‘now that you can see the world, will you marry me?’

The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend is blind too, and refused to marry him.

Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying.

‘JUST TAKE CARE OF MY EYES DEAR.’

This is how human change when their status changes.
Only few remember what life was before, and who has always been there in
the most painful situations.

TODAY BEFORE YOU THINK OF SAYING AN UNKIND WORD.

THINK OF SOMEONE WHO CAN’T SPEAK.

BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THE TASTE OF YOUR FOOD

THINK OF SOMEONE WHO HAS NOTHING TO EAT.

BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR HUSBAND OR WIFE

THINK OF SOMEONE WHO’S CRYING OUT TO GOD FOR A COMPANION.

TODAY BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT LIFE.

THINK OF SOMEONE WHO WENT TOO EARLY TO HEAVEN.

BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN.

THINK OF SOMEONE WHO DESIRES CHILDREN BUT THEY’RE BARREN.

BEFORE YOU ARGUE ABOUT YOUR DIRTY HOUSE, SOMEONE DIDN’T CLEAN OR SWEEP.
THINK OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE LIVING IN THE STREETS.

BEFORE WHINING ABOUT THE DISTANCE YOU DRIVE

THINK OF SOMEONE WHO WALKS THE SAME DISTANCE WITH THEIR FEET.

AND WHEN YOU ARE TIRED AND COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR JOB

THINK OF THE UNEMPLOYED, THE DISABLED AND THOSE WHO WISHED THEY HAD YOUR JOB.

AND WHEN DEPRESSING THOUGHTS SEEM TO GET YOU DOWN

PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE AND THANK GOD YOU’RE ALIVE AND STILL AROUND.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the
shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my
fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’

-Psalm 91:1-2
